Alice Reimer, Tech Entrepreneur & Director, Creative Destruction Labs

Alice Reimer is a successful tech entrepreneur and dedicated community mentor and leader. She co-founded Calgary-based Evoco, whose technology became the standard construction management system for global retailers including Home Depot, Walmart and Luxottica. Most recently, Alice was the CEO of Chaordix, a pioneering software leader in the crowdsourcing and open innovation space, with global clients including LEGO, Procter & Gamble, KPMG and IBM. 

Sean Languedoc, CEO, Code in Canada

Sean is a successful entrepreneur and leader in social media, clean technology, enterprise software and commercial real estate.  Code In Canada is a small web development boutique based in Toronto, working with clients towards the creation of mobile-first and modern web experiences for custom sites and native apps. Our stack ranges from HTML and CSS and Wordpress building blocks to build-from-scratch Javascript, Angular, Ionic, PHP, Google Maps, e-commerce and more

Dan Giurescu, Founder and CEO, TerraHub

Dan Giurescu created TerraHub after his own attempt to build a blockchain product and struggling to find realistic, knowledgeable sources. Dan thrives on the challenge of commercializing new concepts, guiding teams and inspiring action by creating an environment where taking risks in pursuit of success is encouraged.  He leveraged his industry and regulatory knowledge, financial acumen and technology expertise to co-found Caledonia Solutions, a supply chain software for the dangerous goods industry, moving the industry away from paper and into digital innovation.

Joelle Foster, Executive Director, Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, University of Calgary

As Director of Futurpreneur Canada, overseeing Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan and the North, Joelle Foster supported the launch of over 450 new youth-led businesses in the region, leveraging more than $36 million in business financing.  At the Hunter Hub, Joelle is steering the development and execution of entrepreneurial thinking initiatives at the University of Calgary.

Developing Leaders - Habitat for Humanity Build
NAIOP's Developing Leaders are partnering with Habitat for Humanity to help build a housing complex in northwest Calgary.

Time: 8:15 am - 3:30 pm June 26 or June 27
Location: Bowness Bowwood Build Site (6328 Bowwood Dr. NW)

Habitat for Humanity began construction on two, 5-plexes in the community of Bowness in November 2017 and all the homes are expected to be complete in March 2019. You will have the opportunity to spend a day outside, either June 26 or June 27, at the build site, learning construction skills and socializing with other DL members.

Habitat for Humanity is an international non-profit organization devoted to building affordable housing and helping families create stable futures through home ownership financing. Habitat will provide safety training, tools, safety gear, building instructions and a t-shirt.

Here are the details for the build days:

8:15 am – meet at the build site

8:45 am – welcome and safety briefing

12:00 pm – lunch break

3:30 pm – clean-up for the end of the build day

Lunch is provided in addition to water, snacks and coffee throughout the day. You will also receive safety training, tools, safety gear, building instruction and a t-shirt.

Street parking is available at the site, but we will arrange for transportation from downtown if need be. Please indicate on the registration page if you will require transportation.
